Accessibility & Inclusivity
Size Inclusivity
I firmly believe that fashion is for everyBODY! You deserve to wear the clothes that make you feel good whatever your size or shape may be. I will never judge you or shame you for your weight or ask you to hide your body. Fighting back against the deeply entrenched fatphobia in the fashion industry is an integral part of the work I do as a stylist.
Gender Inclusivity:
Clothing doesn’t have gender, people do. I will never make assumptions about what type of clothing you will want to wear based on your gender identity. I work with all genders and gender presentations, and I have a specialty background in working with transgender clients. I am here to help you experience as much gender euphoria as you possibly can!
Sensory Needs:
As a neurodivergent person, I understand that people have unique sensory needs when it comes to clothing. Before we go shopping, we will chat about what sensory issues you may have, what sensory experiences make clothing feel great for you, and if there are any accommodations you need in order to navigate retail shopping environments. I will also bring fidget toys to every meeting!
COVID Safety:
Styled By Sunshine recognizes that the pandemic never ended, and that we have a duty to protect each other. Masking is a radical act of disability justice, which is why I am requiring N-95s at all of my in-person appointments. Let’s cancel our appointments when we are feeling sick and communicate about our exposures. Together, we can keep each other healthy!

Affordability:
Personal stylists can be expensive. I strive to make my services as affordable as possible to everyone who needs them. That’s why I use a sliding scale payment model and ask that clients pay what they can. If you still can’t afford my services with sliding scale, please feel free to reach out anyway. I am open to creating payment plans on a case-by-case basis (note: I am not accepting skill swaps as payment at this time). I am also super thrifty and will help you strategize to find clothes you love that are in your budget.
Cultural Inclusivity:
Fashion holds deep meaning and having your heritage reflected in the clothes that you wear is important. I can’t promise that I will be fluent in every culture, but I can promise that I will work as hard as I can to listen to you, learn about what your heritage means to you and do as much research as I can to make sure your identities are represented in ways that feel authentic.
Other Access Needs:
If there’s anything else that I didn’t mention, please feel free to let me know! There’s an opportunity on my interest form for you to share your access needs with me.
