About Me

My name is Dori Kaplan and I am the founder of Styled By Sunshine PDX, an inclusive personal styling service for everybody! I have a specialty background in working with LGBTQ, queer, trans, disabled, plus-size, and neurodivergent folks.

Hi, I’m Dori (they/them) and I am the founder of Styled By Sunshine PDX in Portland, OR! I also work with clients in Seattle, and virtually across the US. I became a stylist because I believe that fashion is a direct expression of who we are, and there is a certain kind of magic that happens when you walk through the world as your authentic self. I am constantly driven and inspired by my clients. They remind me that it’s never too late to be the person you were meant to be.

My favorite thing about LGBTQ folks is our ability to create ourselves. There are as many ways to be queer or trans as there are queer and trans people! Therefore, my job as a stylist isn’t to tell you how to dress or give you any hard and fast rules about fashion. My role is to listen to your needs and empower you with the tools you need to create outfits that spark maximum joy!
